Asked often — answered plainly.

Getting started

What is Kundaly?

The unseen map of your life — Vedic astrology, computed for the minute you were born. Kundaly computes your birth chart by the classical rules of Jyotiṣa and answers your questions from it, naming the school each answer follows and showing the reasoning.

Do I need an account?

No. You can ask 3 questions as a guest. Sign up — with an email, or Google, Apple or Microsoft — to keep your chart on any device and receive 20 free credits.

Is there an app?

Kundaly runs in your browser at kundaly.com/app, on a phone or a computer. You can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app: on an iPhone, open it in Safari, tap Share, then "Add to Home Screen"; on Android, open it in Chrome and tap "Install app" (or the menu, then "Add to Home screen"). Store apps for iOS and Android are planned.

Your birth details

I don't know my birth time.

You can still begin. Kundaly reads what the date alone supports, marks everything that depends on the hour as provisional — the rising sign, the houses, the exact daśā dates — and tells you so. The rectification tool then narrows the time down from events in your own life.

My chart looks wrong.

Check the birth place and time first — especially for a birth near a clock change, or before standard time was kept; Kundaly reads the clock the place actually kept that day. To correct the details, open the chart from the menu and edit it. If it still looks wrong, mark the answer with the thumbs-down in the app, or tell us here.

My sign here differs from another site.

Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, which sits about 24° from the tropical zodiac most Western sites use — so many people's signs move back by one. Kundaly shows both, labelled.

Schools and systems

Which school is right?

They're different lenses on one chart. Each answers from its own rules, and every reading names the school it follows. Where they agree, you can lean on it; where they differ, you see both.

What is the Council of Sages?

One question answered by each tradition that reads it well — Parāśara, Jaimini, KP, Bhṛgu Nandi Nāḍī and others — side by side, with where they agree and where they don't. It costs 6 credits.

Which ayanāṁśa do you use?

Lahiri by default, and you can choose another for a chart. KP readings use the KP ayanāṁśa, as that school does.

How answers are made

Is a person or an AI answering?

An AI — the Guru — answering from your computed chart. It quotes what the engine found, rather than reaching for generic lore, and names the school it is speaking for.

Is it accurate?

The calculation is precise: positions from the JPL DE440 ephemeris and the classical rules applied as the texts give them. Whether astrology predicts events is not established, and we don't claim it does. Use it for reflection — A light for your reflection — never a verdict.

What won't it answer?

When anyone will die; whether to buy or sell anything; a medical diagnosis. It will talk about the themes of a chart, with care, and point you to the right professional.

Credits and payments

What is free?

Your chart and all its calculations, the daily reading, previews of your transits, timeline and alerts, the muhūrta finder and the reference library. A question costs 1 credit; a Deep answer 3.

Is there a subscription?

No — prepaid credits only (100 · 350 · 1,300 credits a pack, priced in your currency at checkout), and they don't renew on their own. Credits don't expire.

Can I get a refund?

An unused pack can be cancelled within 14 days, and a question that errors is refunded automatically. For a refund, tell us the email on your account and roughly when you bought the pack; a person handles it.

Privacy and safety

Who can see my chart?

You. Your charts, notes and recorded life events are private to your account; nothing is shared unless you choose to share it.

What happens to photos?

Palm and face photos are opt-in, seen only by you, never used to train anything, and deleted when you say.

How do I delete my data?

From the app's Account → Data & privacy — a photo, a chart, or your whole account. Or ask here and a person will help.

Still wondering?

Ask our assistant — it answers most questions straight away, and passes the rest to a person.
